The Brief

Viacom approached us with a brief to create an interactive ad, to promote the game Battlefield 3.

The first player shooter is a highly decorated game with over 60 awards and is especially known for its beautiful environments and realistic vehicles.

The aim was to create an ad which creatively engaged with the user and cleverly mimicked the battlefield experience.

Outcome

We therefore, created a spot click designed as a grenade. The great thing about this type of ad is that it could be placed anywhere on the site. The grenade itself would vibrate and encorge the user to hover over the image. Once hovered over the grenade would explode displaying the Battle field trailer embedded within the Wipe Ad.

The Results:

  • Average time spent watching trailer 1:10
  • Interaction (the amount of users who saw the ad hovered over the ad box) 2,602
